Tour of Britain 2013: Sir Bradley Wiggins to lead Team Sky (USA News)

Olympic champion Sir Bradley Wiggins will lead Team Sky in the Tour of Britain, which starts on 15 September in the Scottish Borders.

The 33-year-old said a month ago that he will leave way hustling at the finish of next season to come back to the track and seek after a fifth Olympic award in 2016.

He is joined in the squad by Ian Stannard, Josh Edmondson, Bernhard Eisel, Mathew Hayman and David Lopez.

A year ago champ, Jonathan Tiernan-Locke, was not chosen.
Wiggins, who was unable to protect his Tour de France title this Spring due to ailment and damage, withdrew from a year ago Tour of Britain with a stomach bug.

He trusts in the not so distant future race will profit his arrangements for the singular time trial at the Road World Championships in Florence on 25 September.

"It's a race I'm enamored with and its superb to see it developing," Wiggins said.

"The swarms and the ways make it extraordinary and its generally exceptionally humbling to see the out of this world help that we get from the general population.

"I'm coming into the race feeling better than average. It fulfills in close nearness to the planet time trial titles, which is my fundamental late-season objective.

"The Tour of Britain is dependably an extreme occasion and I'm anticipating beginning."

There are eight stages in the not so distant future race, taking the riders to Peebles, Cumbria, Knowsley, Stoke-on-Trent, Wales, Devon and Surrey after the completion at Whitehall in London on 22 September.
