USA News __LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A congregation minister was captured Wednesday evening in the slayings of three individuals a month ago in a focal Kentucky pawn shop that put a close-by school on lockdown.
Police in Danville, Ky., said they captured Kenneth A. Keith, 48, of Burnside on three tallies of homicide and one check of theft after officers looked the Main Street Baptist Church in Burnside where Keith is the minister, the congregation parsonage where Keith lives and Gold Rush Buyers, an adornments store Keith works in Somerset, as per a news discharge from the police section.
The discharge didn't say where Keith was captured.
On Sept. 20, a man strolled into ABC Gold, Games and More pawn shop in Danville and lethally shot spouse and wife managers Michael Hockensmith, 34, and Angela Hockensmith, 38, of Lincoln County, in addition to Daniel P. Smith, 60, of Richmond.
Police were called by the Hockensmiths' 9-year-old child, who was in the store around then of shootings with his 2-year-old sister. The youngsters were not harmed.
Keith was taken to the Pulaski County Detention Center, pending exchange to Boyle County.
Records at the Kentucky Secretary of State's Office demonstrate that Keith used to work a pawn shop at the same area of ABC Gold.
The records show that Keith arranged King's Corner Pawn & Gifts LLC at 500 S. Fourth St. on Feb. 7, 2011 — that day he and an alternate man recorded association papers for Gold Rush Buyers.
Keith recorded an alternate archive less than two months prior expressing that viable June 30, 2013, "Kings Corner & Pawn & Gifts LLC is shut and the LLC has been broken down."
The Hockensmiths acquired ABC Gold in July.
