LAKEWOOD — Duke, the Lakewood police puppy who fled from his pet hotel home throughout Thursday's storm, was discovered safe and sound Friday.
"Clearly Duke meandered into a woman's terrace and she distinguished him from the media scope and called him by his name and he reacted," Lakewood police Lt. Chris Lawler said Friday. "She clutched him until the police were called. He is in exceptional health and over with the handler."
Duke escaped Thursday evening from his pet hotel close to the convergence of 208th Street and Mountain Highway in the Spanaway zone, police said. Duke's handler said the canine jumped all over his direction out of his pet hotel.
