Man, 23, charged with murder after Brooklyn toddler shot dead in stroller (USA News)

A 23-year-old man was summoned Saturday on a homicide indictment in the demise of a toddler shot as his guardians pushed him in a stroller over a Brooklyn road.

Howard Jackson, a prosecutor with the Brooklyn District Attorney's office, told journalists Saturday that Daquan Breland faces a criminal ownership of a weapon charge notwithstanding second-degree homicide.

At his beginning presence Saturday, Breland was requested to stay in the slammer; he's planned to next be in court September 12, consistent with Jackson. Breland is on parole for a lawful offense strike in upstate New York, consistent with police.

A call put by CNN on Saturday night to his court-designated lawyer, George Sheinberg, was not promptly returned.

Breland and an alternate youthful man, Daquan Wright, were secured Friday morning by New York analysts and U.s. marshals at a Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, loft consistent with New York police Commissioner Ray Kelly.

"They fled New York City just about quickly after this occurrence and that is the place they were placed," Jackson said of the focal Pennsylvania city.

Wright, a 19-year-old from Brooklyn, was accused Saturday of criminal ownership of a weapon.

Their captures stem from final Sunday nighttime, when 16-month-old Antiq Hennis was in a stroller on Livonia Avenue in Brooklyn.

An observer said Breland started shooting after Wright gave him a weapon, consistent with Kelly, who did not refer to a conceivable intention. Antiq was shot in the left half of his head, consistent with police.

The toddler was transported to Brookdale University Hospital and claimed dead on landing.

Both men have an association with the junior kid's father, 21-year-old Anthony Hennis, who as of Friday had declined to be questioned, consistent with Kelly.

Jackson said Saturday that he directly hadn't yet spoken with Anthony Hennis, however his trust was that he'd be helpful.

As to the case, the prosecutor said it was hard not to feel for the kid's kinfolk.

"I haven't arraigned a case like this before," said Jackson, who handles manslaughter cases for his office. "... Regardless of the possibility that you don't know this tyke, you couldn't resist the opportunity to lament for the gang."
